Salado’s 53rd Annual Art Fair
Summer event includes Soiree, fine art, artists demonstrations, food, & live music.
The 53rd Annual Art Fair will again begin on Friday, August 2, 2019 with the Friday Night Soirée. The Soirée is a hors d’oeuvre and wine Artist’s reception featuring participating Art Fair artists, music by Attila the Horn, and food catered by Let Us Do The Cooking! This year’s location is the Sirena Room at Tenroc Ranch, 6:30pm to 9:00pm. The Soirée will also host a Silent Auction comprised of works donated by participating Art Fair artists.
Tickets are $50 each through July 22nd, then price increases to $60. ALL ticket sales will end on July 28th. Tickets may be purchased online by going to www.salado.com/calendar or in person at the Salado Chamber of Commerce office and select businesses throughout the village.
The 53rd Annual Art Fair will be held on the grounds of the Salado Civic Center at 601 N. Main Street, Salado, TX Saturday, August 3rd & Sunday, August 4th, 9am to 3pm, FREE admission. Enjoy this family friendly event by strolling through more than 30 artists from all over the Texas, while listening to live music in the gazebo. This year’s variety of unique artists is the best it’s been in recent years. You will have the opportunity to meet and shop from an array of talented artists including;
ceramics, illustration & drawing, jewelry, original paintings, photography, sculptors, stained glass, textiles and more! See Artists in Action as a few of this year’s artists will be working on site demonstrating their talent and technique.
We are also excited to announce that the 53rd Annual Art Fair will be seeing the return of commemorative Art Fair posters. Posters will be for sale both at the Friday Night Soirée and throughout the Art Fair. Quantities will be limited, so do not miss out! This year’s winning poster art is a painting titled: Bluebonnet Meadow, by Texas artist, Carl. A Puett of Puett’s Paintings. Carl A. Puett was born in Robert Lee, Texas. He was raised at the Masonic Home and School in Fort Worth, Texas.
After four years in the U.S. Navy, Carl received a Bachelor of Science degree in Art from Texas A&M at Commerce, Texas. He also received a Masters Degree in Art from the University of Houston. He attended a summer course in Italy at the University of Rome, studying art history, drawing and watercolor. He took a two-year commercial art course at the Art Institute of Houston. He also studied with western artist, Joe Radar Roberts, worked with G Harvey and Lajos Markos and has been
painting and doing art shows ever since, for 65 years. After teaching art for 30 years in Houston, Texas, he and his wife retired to Marquez, Texas so he could devote full time to painting. His paintings feature western landscapes, wildlife, antique cars and rural farm scenery.
Throughout the 53rd Annual Art Fair visitors can also purchase raffle tickets to win works also donated by participating artists. Winners will be drawn at 2:30 pm on Sunday, August 4th, you need not be present to win.
